Major Conservative Host Says Trump Activity ‘Seems Like Corruption’

Tucker Carlson, a well-known conservative figure and former Fox News host, hinted that President Trump might be involved in corrupt behavior during a recent episode of his show. Carlson was once considered a potential vice-presidential pick for Trump.

In a conversation with Shawn Ryan, a conservative podcaster and ex-Navy SEAL, the topic turned to Trump’s recent trip to the Middle East. Ryan said he felt uneasy about how Trump’s brand seemed to benefit right after the trip.

He pointed out that new Trump-branded hotels and resorts are being built in places like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha. He questioned whether these projects were approved as part of the political meetings that just happened or if they were unrelated. Ryan admitted he wasn’t sure about the timing, so he asked Carlson if he knew.

Carlson replied that he didn’t know either and said he personally hasn’t made any money from the Middle East. Ryan suggested that Carlson might have more insider knowledge, but Carlson downplayed that, saying he’s just someone who observes what’s going on.

Ryan said these kinds of deals concern him, and Carlson agreed, saying it “seems like corruption.”

There has already been criticism about Trump accepting a gift from Qatar  a \$400 million Air Force One-style plane that’s expected to end up in his presidential library. At the same time, Trump’s family is involved in several big business deals in the same countries Trump visited, including real estate developments in Dubai, Doha, and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. These overlapping political and business interests are raising ethical questions.
