Man begs for help after his girlfriend locked him in a suitcase in Florida. He later died (Video)

A report released by a medical examiner states that a Florida man’s cause of death was determined to be asphyxiation, classified as a homicide, after his girlfriend locked him inside a suitcase. Sarah Boone was arrested in February of 2020 on second-degree murder charges following allegations that she enclosed her boyfriend in a suitcase during a game of hide-and-seek and left him to perish while he pleaded for help and struggled to breathe.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the couple had considered it amusing for the man, identified as 42-year-old Jorge Torres Jr., to enter the suitcase voluntarily. Due to a broken zipper, Boone resorted to using a paper clip to secure it shut, as documented in official records.

A subsequent post-mortem examination of Torres revealed that his cause of death was positional asphyxia, associated with suffocation due to prolonged confinement. Boone informed investigators that both she and Torres had consumed alcohol that evening and she had fallen asleep in her bed.
