Melania Trump leaves people confused after sharing bizarre AI video that fuels major conspiracy theory

Melania Trump has sparked confusion and a wave of conspiracy theories after posting a strange AI-generated video of herself online.
The former First Lady, who has long kept a low profile compared to her husband, rarely makes public appearances. When she does speak out, it is often about technology and protecting children from the risks of an AI-driven future. Last month, she delivered a speech from the White House in which she told the audience, “Our future is no longer science fiction. During this primitive stage, it is our duty to treat AI as we would our own children – empowering, but with watchful guidance.”
Now, she has fueled speculation by uploading a short clip that shows a digital version of herself. The 10-second video appears to place Melania inside Trump Tower as a hologram. The pixelated, computer-generated figure looks like her, wearing her usual navy trench coat, fixing her posture, and staring silently at the camera while it zooms in. The only caption she added was: “Into the future.”
With no further explanation, the video quickly stirred confusion and even unease among viewers. Some interpreted it as a cryptic message, while others mocked it online. On Twitter, one user joked, “Melania posted this AI version of herself to sell her crypto. AI Melania speaks 738 languages, has perfect skin and is available for children’s birthday parties and auto shows, but still no appearances with Donald, because unlike IRL Melania, AI has standards.” Another wrote: “Sure are showing us a lot of hologram stuff. What she trying to tell us?” Others speculated she might even use holograms for future appearances.
The odd clip has reignited an old conspiracy theory that began circulating back in 2017: claims that Melania is sometimes replaced by a body double. Supporters of the theory point to differences in her facial features, body shape, and behavior in certain appearances. President Trump has dismissed the idea as “fake news,” but Melania’s latest post has given conspiracy theorists more fuel.
She isn’t the only Trump experimenting with AI. Recently, Donald Trump shared his own AI-generated content, including a video in which a digital version of him talked about a so-called “medbed card” before it was deleted, and an edited image portraying him as a character from *Apocalypse Now* to threaten “war” against Chicago.
Melania’s AI hologram has left people puzzled, with some joking about teleportation and others genuinely unsettled by what message she was trying to send.
