Tom Homan, President Donald Trump’s Border Czar, shared his thoughts on Fox News Monday about Selena Gomez’s emotional Instagram video, where she spoke against deportations in the U.S.

Anchor Sandra Smith introduced the story, saying, “Pop singer Selena Gomez shared a video reacting to the Trump administration’s immigration raids over the weekend. Let’s take a look.” The clip showed Gomez tearfully saying, “All my people are getting attacked! The children. I don’t understand. I’m so sorry. I wish I could do something, but I can’t.”

Smith explained that the video went viral on Instagram but was later removed after the platform’s 24-hour story limit. She then played a clip of Tom Homan’s response during an earlier segment:

“We didn’t arrest families. We focused on threats to public safety and national security. If people don’t like it, they should ask Congress to change the laws. Our goal is to make communities safer—reduce crime, sex trafficking, and deaths at the border. This is for the good of the nation, and we won’t apologize for doing our job.”

Smith added, “This is sparking a lot of reactions online. But it’s worth noting that many Americans support deportations of criminals and dangerous gang members like those in Tren de Aragua. Selena Gomez hasn’t reposted her video, but it’s still being talked about.”

Her co-anchor John Roberts jokingly added, “Maybe she realized that violent gang members aren’t her people after all. Honestly, I don’t get why people post videos of themselves crying, but I guess that’s just the world of social media these days.”
