Ontario Premier Doug Ford is absolutely furious with former U.S. President Donald Trump over his latest move to slap heavy taxes on foreign cars and auto parts. “Let me be clear,” Ford said. “If Trump thinks he can hurt Canadian workers and businesses with these tariffs, we’re going to make sure the U.S. feels the pain just as much—if not more.”
Trump’s new tariffs are part of a bigger plan to punish any country that taxes American goods. He’s even calling April 2—the day these tariffs kick in—“Liberation Day,” framing it as a win for U.S. jobs. But Ford and other Canadian leaders see it as an economic attack, and they’re ready to fight back.
