Donald Trump’s approval rating is going down fast, and even Fox News, which usually supports him no matter what, had to admit it. Fox is known for being very friendly to Trump and his supporters, but this time they showed numbers that were not good for him at all.
Right now, Trump’s approval rating is at 44%. That’s how many people say they approve of the job he’s doing. If you compare that to other presidents at the same point in their term, Trump is doing much worse. Joe Biden had 54% approval after 100 days, Barack Obama had 62%, and George W. Bush had 63%. Even when Trump was president the first time, his approval was a little higher, at 45%. So not only is he doing worse than other presidents, he’s doing worse than his own first term.
One big reason people are unhappy with Trump is the economy. When he was president before, many people thought he was handling the economy well. But now, only 38% say he’s doing a good job with the economy, and 56% say he’s doing a bad job. When it comes to inflation, which means prices going up, and tariffs, which are taxes on goods from other countries, even fewer people approve of how he’s handling those. Only about one-third of people think he’s doing okay, while almost 60% think he’s doing badly.
Also, his approval rating dropped a lot in just a short time. In March, Fox News showed him at 49% approval, and now it’s down to 44%. That’s a 5-point drop in just about a month.
Other polls from different groups show the same thing. A poll by Reuters and Ipsos says Trump’s approval is even lower, at 42%. Another poll by Pew Research shows his approval at only 40%, and that’s down 7 points in just two months.
The RealClearPolitics average, which adds together lots of different polls, shows that Trump’s disapproval rating — the number of people who say they don’t like the job he’s doing — is now over 51%. That’s a big jump of 12 points in just three months. Meanwhile, only about 46% still approve of him.
In simple words, a lot more people are unhappy with Trump now compared to just a few months ago. Even the news channels and pollsters that usually treat him kindly are showing that the public isn’t feeling very good about him anymore. His support is slipping, and it’s happening pretty quickly.
