President Trump gave a strong order on Sunday, telling the Department of Homeland Security, the National Guard, and the Justice Department to do whatever was needed to stop the riots happening in downtown Los Angeles.

The trouble started on Friday evening after ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents carried out legal raids on several businesses in the city. These federal agents went into the businesses and arrested people who were in the country illegally. After the raids, things turned violent. Groups of people, including some who were against ICE and its actions, reacted by setting cars on fire and even attacking the federal agents on the scene.

Trump didn’t hold back in his response. He posted a message on social media saying that Los Angeles, which he called “a once great American city,” had been taken over by illegal immigrants and criminals. He said the city was now facing violent mobs who were attacking agents and trying to stop the deportations. But according to Trump, these riots only made him more determined to act.

In his statement, he said he had instructed top officials—Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi—to work with other federal agencies and use any action necessary to take back control of the city. Trump promised that order would be restored, the migrants would be removed, and Los Angeles would be “set free.”

His message ended with a firm thank you, making it clear that he expects immediate results.

Illegals carrying Mexican flags pushed back on police and lit fireworks near a car they set on fire.
