Russia savagely responds after Trump brands Putin ‘crazy’ over recent Ukraine attacks

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has stirred up fresh tension with Russia after calling Vladimir Putin “crazy” in response to a deadly attack on Ukraine. Russia didn’t stay quiet and quickly fired back, calling Trump’s comments emotionally driven and exaggerated.

It all started after Russia launched a massive overnight strike on Ukraine on May 24. According to Ukraine’s Air Force, almost 300 drones and nearly 70 missiles were fired in one night, making it one of the biggest attacks since the war began in 2022. The result was devastating dozens injured and at least 12 people killed, including three children.

Reacting to the attack, Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, on May 26. He said that although he used to have a good relationship with Putin, something has changed.

He wrote, “He has gone absolutely CRAZY!” Trump went on to say that Putin was killing innocent people and launching missiles into Ukrainian cities for no clear reason. He warned that if Putin really plans to take over all of Ukraine, it might end up destroying Russia itself.

Many of Trump’s followers supported his comments online. Some prayed for peace, while others blamed current President Joe Biden for the ongoing war, saying he was never in control. A few even asked for God to give Trump the wisdom to handle the situation.

But Trump didn’t just criticize Putin—he also took aim at Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Trump said Zelenskyy wasn’t helping the situation with the way he talks, and claimed that everything Zelenskyy says seems to make things worse.

Trump made it clear that he blames Putin, Zelenskyy, and Biden for the war, saying it never would have happened if he had still been in office. He described himself as someone trying to fix the mess others created, not as someone responsible for it.

The Kremlin, through spokesman Dmitry Peskov, responded by saying Trump was showing signs of “emotional overload” and added that the current moment is extremely sensitive and stressful for everyone.

Although they acknowledged Trump’s past help in starting some negotiation processes, they seemed to suggest that his recent comments were too emotional to take seriously.

Whether Trump’s social media post will affect the ongoing peace talks between Russia and Ukraine remains unclear. But his strong words have certainly sparked attention and added fuel to an already tense situation.
