Shocking new poll reveals what Republicans really think of Trump’s second term and it might surprise you

A new poll has revealed how people really feel about Donald Trump’s second term as President, and the results might surprise you.
Trump was sworn in again earlier this year at the age of 78, promising what he called the “Golden Age of America.” Since then, he has signed a lot of executive orders, deported innocent people including children, and started trade wars with several countries. It’s been a busy and intense start to his second time in office.
The New York Times and Siena College asked 913 voters between April 21 and 24 how they would describe Trump’s second term so far. Voters could choose from a list of words, and they had to say if each word fit “well” or “very well.”
The top three words people picked were “chaotic,” “scary,” and “exciting.” “Chaotic” was the most popular, with 66% of voters agreeing it described Trump’s second term. “Scary” wasn’t far behind, getting 59%, while “exciting” came in lower at 42%.
This isn’t the only poll showing growing concern about Trump’s time back in office. Another poll by Reuters and Ipsos, which surveyed 4,306 people over six days, showed that Trump’s approval rating is falling. When he first returned to the White House, 47% of people approved of him. That number dropped to 43% earlier this month, and more recently, it slid even further to 42%.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll also asked voters about Trump’s recent executive orders. Last month, he signed one to make changes to national monuments and museums, claiming it would “restore truth” to American history. However, 66% of voters said they don’t think a president should have control over institutions like museums and theaters.
Another statement asked voters if it’s okay for a president to cut funding to universities if he disagrees with how they are run. About 57% of voters disagreed with that idea — including about a third of Republicans.
Overall, 59% of those polled, including many Republicans, said they believe the United States is losing respect around the world. After Trump was criticized for embarrassing the country at Pope Francis’ funeral with his outfit, it’s easy to understand why so many people feel this way.
It seems Trump’s second term isn’t bringing the “Golden Age” he promised — at least not in the eyes of many Americans.
