Strategist who predicted when Trump’s administration will ‘collapse’ Making another Shocking Claim

A political strategist who once predicted that Donald Trump’s administration would “collapse” now says the former president has committed one of the most “ignorant” acts in U.S. history. 

Trump returned to the White House for a second term earlier this year, and his presidency has been anything but quiet. Since taking office, he’s signed a flurry of executive orders—some controversial, like renaming the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America” and abolishing the Department of Education. He’s also pushed through a major election reform bill, which just passed in the House last week. 

But his aggressive trade policies, including steep tariffs, have thrown financial markets into chaos. And according to Democratic strategist James Carville, this could be the beginning of the end for Trump’s presidency. 

Carville, an 80-year-old political consultant, has been vocal about his belief that the Trump administration is on shaky ground. He recently claimed the whole thing could implode within just 30 days, suggesting that Democrats don’t even need to fight hard—they just have to wait and let Trump’s mistakes unravel his own government. 

Now, Carville is doubling down, calling Trump’s trade war with China (and other countries) one of the most “ignorant” moves in American political history. In a scathing opinion piece for *The New York Times*, he wrote: 

*”In what will certainly be recorded as one of the most ignorant acts of political leadership in American history, the president has now willfully damaged the global economy with his tariff chaos. This isn’t just economic warfare—it breaks the most important rule in U.S. politics: Never destabilize the economy. And by doing so, the Trump administration is causing massive damage to itself. There’s no hiding from this truth anymore.”* 

Carville has also taken aim at Elon Musk’s growing influence in Trump’s administration. Musk, who now oversees the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), could end up being a major liability, according to the strategist. 

In an interview with Chris Cuomo, Carville went as far as to say: “Musk will be the biggest motivator for Democratic voters in history—even bigger than Barack Obama. And I don’t say that lightly. But if he keeps going like this, that’s exactly what’s going to happen.”

He added that internal polling data shows Musk’s involvement is already energizing Democratic voters like never before. “I’ve never seen anything like this in all my years of polling,”* Carville said. “And we’re only a month into this experiment.”

So, is Trump’s administration really on the verge of collapse? Carville seems to think so—and if his past predictions are any indication, it might be wise to pay attention.
