During her 2024 presidential campaign, former Vice President Kamala Harris warned about the potential consequences of a second Donald Trump presidency, and many of her predictions have since come to pass.
A TikTok video from February 2025 highlighted Harris’s warnings, including her concerns about Trump’s plans to reverse progress, increase prices, and eliminate the Department of Education a key goal outlined in Project 2025, a conservative blueprint for governance. Harris dismissed Trump’s denials of involvement with Project 2025, stating, “He says everything’s not true.”.
Since taking office, Trump has taken actions aligned with Project 2025, such as nominating one of its authors, Russell Vought, to lead the Office of Management and Budget. His administration has also pursued sweeping deregulation and aggressive immigration reforms, mirroring the document’s priorities.
Harris’s warning about the potential elimination of the Department of Education has also gained traction, as Trump’s Education Secretary, Linda McMahon, has expressed support for dissolving the department. Recent cryptic emails have directed the closure of several department offices, further fueling concerns.
Harris also cautioned that a Trump presidency would lead to cuts in Medicaid. In March 2025, the Congressional Budget Office confirmed that Republicans would need to cut hundreds of billions from government health programs to meet their budget goals. Bobby Kogan, a Democratic budget analyst, described these cuts as “an instruction to take health coverage away from people.”
Harris’s campaign warnings have proven prescient, as Trump’s policies and appointments reflect the conservative agenda outlined in Project 2025. Her foresight underscores the ongoing debate over the direction of the U.S. under Trump’s leadership and the potential long-term impacts of his administration’s actions.
