Trump Rages There’s ‘No Case’ Against Him and the ‘Legal System is Broken’ in Long Rant About Bragg, Merchan, and ‘BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN TAXES’
President-elect Donald Trump launched into a rage on Truth Social about Judge Juan Merchan and New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg over his New York criminal case.
Earlier this week, Merchan ordered Trump to attend a sentencing hearing over his felony convictions for falsifying business records to cover up an alleged affair with Stormy Daniels. Trump continues to declare his innocence and denies the affair.
Trump claimed on Truth Social that the criminal cases he faced were influenced by the White House under the direction President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. He also referred to Merchan as a “corrupt” political hack.
“D.A. Alvin Bragg never wanted to bring this lawless case against me,” Trump wrote on Sunday evening to his followers on Truth Social. “He was furious at the way it was handled, and especially angry at MARK POMERANTZ for his behavior, and what he did. Ultimately, the Biden/Harris DOJ forced Bragg to concoct anything to embarrass TRUMP.”
Trump added, “But it was even more so what the CORRUPT and TOTALLY CONFLICTED POLITICAL HACK Judge did, and is doing, on this sham trial. I even have, STILL, an Unconstitutional Gag Order where I am not allowed to speak about the Judge’s highly disqualifying Conflicts of Interest. Virtually ever legal scholar and pundit says THERE IS NO (ZERO!) CASE AGAINST ME.”
On his X account, Trump shared a screenshot of the Truth Social post.
The president-elect accused Judge Merchan of fabricating “the facts and the law” while claiming “the legal system is broken.”
“The Judge fabricated the facts, and the law, no different than the other New York Judicial and Prosecutorial Witch Hunts,” Trump concluded. “That’s why businesses are fleeing New York, taking with them millions of jobs, and BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN TAXES. The legal system is broken, and businesses can’t take a chance in getting caught up in this quicksand. IT’S ALL RIGGED, in this case against a political opponent, ME!!!”
