Susie Wiles, who works as the Chief of Staff for former U.S. President Donald Trump, has finally spoken to the media for the first time since Trump became president. She’s kept quiet for a long time, but now she’s agreed to do her very first interview. The person interviewing her is Lara Trump, Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law. In the interview, Wiles shared that she had a tough conversation with Trump after he lost the 2020 election. She explained that she had to correct some of his beliefs about what had really happened during that time.
A short video shared by the *Daily Mail* shows Wiles telling Lara how she gave advice to Trump about what he needed to do to win in the future. She said that when she spoke to him in 2021, she told him things weren’t how he thought they were after the election. That conversation is what pulled her into playing a bigger role.
Trump asked her if she could fix the situation, and she said he’s the kind of person who has seen a lot and doesn’t get easily shocked. She described him as very strong and able to bounce back from difficult situations.
Wiles, who is 67 years old, mostly stayed out of the spotlight during the 2024 campaign. She focused on helping from behind the scenes, organizing things and guiding Trump’s campaign. Her quiet but important work helped Trump return to the White House for another term. She said her job was to make sure everything stayed on track and on time so that others — especially the president and vice president — could focus on solving the country’s problems.
One reason Wiles stands out is because she’s not afraid to tell Trump the truth, even when it’s difficult. That’s something many others couldn’t do. In the past, people who disagreed with Trump often lost their jobs or were pushed out of his circle. Wiles, however, kept her position and continued working closely with him.
During the interview, Lara Trump asked Wiles about her main goals for the White House over the next four years. Wiles talked about a few big plans, like fixing problems with trade, trying to bring peace to areas of conflict, rebuilding the U.S. economy, and making the country safer by dealing with crime. She said these are important not just for today, but for the future as well.
Wiles has a lot of experience in politics. She used to work as a press secretary and was also involved in Ronald Reagan’s 1980 presidential campaign. Later, from 1996 to 1999, she worked as the Chief of Staff for the Mayor of Jacksonville, Florida.
The full interview with Wiles will air on Saturday at 9 p.m. on the show *My View with Lara Trump*.
