Jon Stewart, the popular TV host and comedian known for The Daily Show, recently shared some very strong opinions about Donald Trump on a podcast. He didn’t hold back and even made a dark prediction about how Trump’s presidency might end in 2029.
Stewart sounded deeply worried about where things are going and suggested that if things keep getting worse, Trump could cause serious damage to the country before leaving office.
Since Trump returned to the White House for a second term in January, he’s made a lot of big and controversial changes. He’s signed many executive ordersone of them even renamed the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America.
Another order attempted to completely shut down the Department of Education, which has led to legal battles in court. These actions have shocked many people, and critics feel that Trump is trying to change the country in ways that aren’t helpful or smart.
Jon Stewart talked about all this during The Bill Simmons Podcast. He especially called out Trump for his massive $20 billion lawsuit against CBS News and Paramount. Trump is accusing them of interfering in the 2024 election after they aired an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Stewart mocked the lawsuit and said it feels like everyone is now being forced to treat Trump like some kind of king. He said, “All must pay tribute to the king,” meaning Trump wants total loyalty and won’t tolerate any criticism.
Stewart also joked about how long he would keep doing The Daily Show, saying he’d stick with it until the company is taken over by people who don’t support the show’s message.
He expressed frustration that the media is under attack just for doing their jobs. He mentioned how Trump is trying to take down CBS and other news outlets just because he didn’t like how an interview was edited. Stewart pointed out that editing decisions in TV are normal and personal, and they don’t amount to slander or lies. But Trump is treating them as if they are criminal acts.
Then Stewart said something even more disturbing. He asked if Trump might end up “burning the country down for the insurance money.
It was a dramatic way of saying that he’s scared Trump might do something truly destructive if he feels cornered or loses control. He wasn’t joking for laughs he seemed genuinely worried that Trump could cause real harm to America.
Later in the podcast, Stewart made fun of Trump’s bragging about his first 100 days back in office. He sarcastically said it’s like Trump believes those 100 days were the most successful in the history of the country—comparing it to a crazy situation where America goes to the moon and kills Bin Laden at the same time.
Stewart clearly doesn’t agree with Trump’s view of his own success and was using humor to show how unrealistic and exaggerated Trump’s self-praise sounds.
Overall, Jon Stewart’s message was clear. He doesn’t trust Trump’s leadership, and he’s afraid of what might happen if people keep giving him power without pushing back.
Stewart used humor and strong language to make people think about the direction the country is heading in and to warn that the future could be dangerous if no one speaks up.
