Police say a man, Matthew Livelsberger, detonated a Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday morning, calling for Americans to use violence if necessary to remove Democrats from power. The blast injured seven people and ended with Livelsberger taking his own life.

Investigators revealed that the 37-year-old had planned the explosion for days. Police recovered two notes from his burned vehicle, written on his phone and laptop.

In the messages, Livelsberger, a decorated Green Beret, urged military members and Americans who shared his views to take extreme action against the government, particularly targeting Democrats. He called for a “purge” of Washington, outlining plans to occupy roads near federal buildings and block highways.

One note, addressed to fellow servicemembers and veterans, called for a “hard reset” to save the country. He encouraged trying peaceful methods first but advised being ready for violence if necessary to remove Democrats from leadership.

In another note, Livelsberger shared his grim perspective on the state of the nation. He criticized President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.

He praised President-elect Donald Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Elon Musk, blaming societal decline on greed, a lack of morals, and what he saw as a culture of weakness.

He called for stronger leadership, ending the war in Ukraine through negotiation, and addressing income inequality and homelessness.

Livelsberger framed his actions as a “wake-up call,” stating that violence and spectacle were the only ways to get people’s attention. He saw his act as a way to start a “new chapter” for America, urging others to rally behind Trump, Musk, and Kennedy for a stronger future.
