Woman Pops Pimple, Urges Others To Beware After She Almost Dies

Woman grew a painful pimple close to her eyebrow so she did what the majority of us would do, she popped it.

However, not too long after doing so, she was rushed to the hospital.

Once she got there, doctors let her know about the mistake she made and now she is sending a warning to the public about this common practice that almost killed her.

Katie Wright is a very stunning woman but just like the average person, she got a pimple. How she dealt with this simple blemish, however, could of blinded her or almost costed her her life after she tried desperately to pop it.

Since pimple-popping is such a common — and admittedly satisfying practice — Katie knew she had to share her story to help others from making a similar mistake. As it turns out, though, squeezing the pimple wasn’t the only routine practice that led to some serious health consequences for the makeup-loving young lady.

“I decided to pick at what I thought was a giant under the skin pimple because it had been hurting for a while and got too painful to ignore,” Katie recalled on social media. Within an hour, her entire face became painful and swollen, leaving her feeling like something was going to burst out of her skin.

So, she went to the emergency room, where she was given some shocking news.“They said it was a very serious case of Cellulitis, which is a version of a Staph infection, but instead of having a head like Staph, it affects deep cellular tissues with no main source to attack,” Katie explained. .

“Since it was on my face, there was a huge risk of it spreading to my brain or my eyes causing me to go blind,” she added, posting images to show the before and after.

For those keen eyes who notice that the blemish seems to “switch sides” in the subsequent image Katie posted, no, it’s not fake. One picture was simply taken of her face in the mirror. But, I digress.

In addition to warning others about the risk of picking at and popping pimples, Katie also wanted to reveal what caused the unsightly blemish to begin with. “This most likely happened from bacteria getting on my eyebrow pencil brush,” she said.

I’m super strict on washing my face/beauty blender/brushes, but I never thought to disinfect my eyebrow spooly,” she continued. “If you wear makeup PLEASE make that a step in your cleaning routine!” Katie pleaded with others. “It’s a small thing to do to avoid a painful, expensive, and traumatizing infection on your face.”

Indeed, the squeezing of a pimple and the satisfaction of seeing it pop is a common yet disgusting pleasure that so many people partake in, even though we know we shouldn’t. It’s so enjoyable to so many people that the renowned Dr. Pimple Popper has gained millions of followers just by sharing videos that reveal the often nauseating results of doing just what her nickname implies. But, pimple popping should be handled by the professionals because it comes with serious risks.

The bacteria that causes the blemish can spread to other areas, resulting in a severe infection of the surrounding tissue, as Katie Wright found out. Katie’s wound healed without any lasting effects, but not everyone will be so lucky.

And, cases like Katie’s are more common than we might realize, the NY Post reports. So, don’t forget to remind your own loved ones to not only leave their pimples alone but to also clean their makeup brushes regularly so that they don’t get blemishes to begin with. Clean your makeup brushes and don’t squeeze pimples — that’s really not asking a lot when you realize this can prevent an infection that could lead to blindness or even death.
