A woman on TikTok was completely shocked after discovering something very unexpected in her bathroom. When Alison Doyle, who often posts on TikTok about fitness, mental health, and her experience with ADHD, went to use the toilet one day, she found a dead bat floating inside.
Alison, who goes by the username @tismpump and has over 55,000 followers, recorded her reaction and shared it online. In the video, she appeared both horrified and confused. She even joked about the size of the bat, saying it was smaller than her biggest poop. Despite trying to laugh it off, people in the comments were quick to warn her that she should go to the hospital immediately. Many were concerned about the possibility of rabies, even though she hadn’t been bitten or scratched.
Alison didn’t think it was a big deal at first, but after being flooded with comments urging her to get checked out, she decided to go to the hospital just to be safe. In a later video, she shared that she had gotten a rabies shot. She explained to a medical worker that she found the bat in her toilet and had hundreds of people online urging her to get help. She also mentioned that because she’s autistic and struggles with everyday tasks like grocery shopping, she was hesitant to go to the hospital unless it was truly necessary.
The hospital staff reassured her that it was a smart move to come in, even if the risk was low. According to experts, while only a small number of bats carry viruses similar to rabies (called European Bat Lyssaviruses), it’s still better to be cautious. These viruses are usually spread through bites or scratches, but in rare cases, they can be passed through saliva if it touches a person’s eyes, nose, or mouth.
Even though Alison didn’t have any direct contact with the bat, she didn’t want to take any chances — and her followers clearly agreed. What started as a shocking and bizarre bathroom experience quickly turned into a serious health precaution and a viral moment online.
