Zelensky hits back at ‘scared’ Putin after Trump applauds dictator’s ‘promising’ remarks

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky strongly criticized Russian leader Vladimir Putin after he spoke about the possibility of a ceasefire in Ukraine. Zelensky responded after Putin said he was open to a ceasefire suggested by the United States but had serious concerns about how it would actually work.

Zelensky did not believe Putin was sincere. He said that Putin is afraid to openly tell former U.S. President Donald Trump that he wants to continue the war and keep attacking Ukraine. Instead, Moscow is making demands that make a ceasefire difficult or even impossible, stretching things out for as long as they can.

Zelensky described Putin’s comments as completely predictable. He believes Russia is just playing for time and has no real interest in stopping the war. He accused Putin of stealing years of peace and continuing the war day after day with no real intention of ending it.

His remarks came after Donald Trump reacted to Putin’s words by calling them “promising” and encouraging him to do the right thing by agreeing to a ceasefire.
