The public is upset, sick and outraged about a tragic case involving a 6-year-old girl that killed her brother. However what their father was doing while this killing happened makes this entire situation much worse.

Adrian Dreshaun Middleton, a 26-year-old father from Houston Texas, had a son who lost his life in a tragic homicide early one morning when his daughter killed him by strangling him until he was no longer living.

The young girl will not face any charges, as reported by Houston police, however what they learned about the father as this killing took place will put him under serious charges.

As Middleton went to shop for some clothes at a store, he kept his 6-year-old daughter and his one-year-old son inside of the vehicle. As reported by the father, he left the children with food and water, turned the AC on and turned on a movie as he left them alone for about 30-45 minutes. But surveillance video would reveal a different narrative.

Adrian Dreshaun Middleton was actually gone from 10:45 am until 12:15 pm, meaning the kids were alone for an hour and a half. The father further alleged that he checked on the children through a store window and thought they were fine.

But, again, the video footage proved that wasn’t the case. In addition, Middleton said the children were strapped into their car seats but there weren’t any present.

As Middleton returned to the Family Thrift Center parking lot to load his purchases into the trunk, he discovered his daughter was crying. She then requested to use the bathroom and told him that she “did something bad.” Although the little girl did not respond initially when he asked what happened, her dad would soon discover the tragic chain of events that took place while his children were alone in the car.

While an oblivious Middleton shopped, his son began to cry in the Harris County parking lot. With no parent to turn to, the little girl tried to quiet him herself. Unfortunately, that involved wrapping a seatbelt around the baby boy’s neck and strangling him to death.
The little girl told investigators that she first tried playing with her brother to get him to stop crying. But, when she stopped playing with him, he would only start to cry again, according to ABC 13. She then became “angry” and tightened the seatbelt around his neck until he fell unconscious. Initially, she believed he had simply fallen asleep.

Adrian Dreshaun Middleton found his son in the back seat with the seatbelt wrapped around his neck. According to Daily Mail, he removed the seatbelt, called 911, and attempted CPR until paramedics arrived, but to no avail. The little boy was pronounced dead at Texas Children’s Hospital.

An autopsy ruled his death was homicide by strangulation.

As a result, Middleton was arrested and charged with abandoning a child with prosecutors claiming he put his son at “an unreasonable risk of harm, namely, and a reasonable person would have believed that such circumstances would place the Complainant in imminent danger of death, bodily injury, physical impairment, and mental impairment.”

Adrian Dreshaun Middleton turned himself in, and his daughter was placed in the care of her grandmother. Meanwhile, his family claims he never intended for this to happen and that it was an accident.
