Most Americans think the president should be required to share their medical information with the public. A new poll by Axios shows that 74% of people believe presidents must release their health records. Even more—about 81%—say that presidents should take tests to check their mental sharpness and screen for diseases, and that the results should be shared with everyone.

Many people feel politicians are not being honest about their health. Around three out of every four people say they don’t trust what politicians say about their well-being. Also, about 80% believe there should be age limits for the president, members of Congress, and even Supreme Court justices.

This issue has become more noticeable during the presidencies of Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Trump just turned 79, making him the oldest president to take office in U.S. history. Meanwhile, concerns about Biden’s health have affected how people view his campaign for re-election. In April, the White House released a note from Trump’s doctor, saying he was in excellent physical and mental health. Oddly enough, it also mentioned that Trump often wins golf tournaments. The letter also claimed he is 6’3″ tall and weighs 224 pounds.
