Trump Just Cut Healthcare for 85 Million Americans? The Shocking Truth Behind the Medicaid Freeze!”

Donald Trump may have accidentally disrupted healthcare for 85 million people.

Initially, the White House said Trump’s freeze on government spending wouldn’t affect Medicaid, a program that provides health insurance to low-income adults and children. A follow-up memo from the Office of Budget Management also confirmed Medicaid wouldn’t be impacted.

However, recent reports show that some state websites where people manage their Medicaid accounts—funded jointly by the federal government and states—were temporarily unavailable.

When asked to clarify which programs would be excluded from the freeze, new Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt didn’t mention Medicaid. When reporters pressed her on whether Medicaid was affected, she said she didn’t know and would need to get back to them.

The White House has claimed the freeze wouldn’t affect funding sent directly to Americans. But Leavitt didn’t give a clear answer about programs like Meals on Wheels, which delivers food to 2.2 million elderly people.

As of 2022, 85 million low-income and disabled Americans rely on Medicaid for free healthcare. In 2019, Medicaid covered half of all births in the U.S.

During a nearly 50-minute press briefing, Leavitt defended Trump on various issues, including immigration policies and the freeze on federal funding for several programs. At 27, she is the youngest press secretary in history and mentioned she had just spoken with Trump in the Oval Office before the briefing.

She also announced that the White House would grant press credentials to podcasters and social media influencers, who would get special seats in the briefing room.

Additionally, Leavitt addressed concerns about drones spotted over New Jersey, confirming they were authorized by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and not a threat.

“After investigation, the drones flying over New Jersey were approved by the FAA for research and other purposes,” she said. “Many were also flown by hobbyists and private individuals who enjoy flying drones. The attention made it seem worse, but this was not the enemy.”
